CEDAR POINT YACHT CLUB

Based at Westport, Connecticut, the club has its origins back in 1887, and is now regarded by many as the premier club for one-design racing on the East Coast. Facilities for Atlantics include excellent docks and a recently-installed 5-ton hoist. There's been an Atlantic fleet here since the 1950s, and these days it is the most active of the club's nine racing classes, with healthy participation on Saturdays and Sundays. Sailboat racing is the primary reason for CPYC's existence, but there is a friendly social atmosphere, and a strong volunteer spirit that helps to keep the club affordable. Racing is held from Memorial Day to Labor Day for the 15 Atlantics currently in the club fleet.
